Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)

It is with great excitement to announce the successful obtainment of the contract to digitise the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). We will be working with the Department of Health and Ageing to move PBS from paper to digital form.

This tender was awarded at the end of 2009- 2010 financial year and is expected to take 14 months to be completed, with expected completion dates end of 2011. The project involves consolidating at least six existing internal system to create one comprehensive system.

The PBS is a $7.7 billion tax payer funded program that allows the government to subsidise the prescription medicines of a list managed by the Department of Health and Ageing’s pharmaceutical branch. During the 2008-2009 financial year, this list consisted of 182 million prescriptions subsidised by the Australian public.
